Following the recent historic accord between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, the Presidents of CFA Society Israel and CFA Society Emirates are pleased to invite you to a joint presentation on the capital markets in both countries.

Our distinguished guest speakers will highlight the key characteristics and drivers of the equity and fixed income markets in Israel and the UAE, outlining the investment opportunities arising out of this bilateral treaty.


Ron Senator co-founded Sphera Funds Management in 2004, which is the first and largest hedge fund in Israel, employing more than 20 investment professionals. He is Portfolio Manager of the Sphera Fund, a long/short equity fund focused on large and mid-cap Israeli and Israeli-related companies. Prior to establishing Sphera, Mr Senator headed JPMorgan Chase’s Israeli operations. He holds a BA in Economics from Bar-Ilan University, and an MBA from Yale University. He is based in Tel Aviv.

Fahd Iqbal joined Credit Suisse’s private banking arm in the UAE in 2013 as Head of Middle East Research, where he is responsible for both stock coverage and investment strategy. Prior to this, he was MENA Strategist at EFG-Hermes in the UAE and the pan-Euro Small and Mid-cap Strategist at Deutsche Bank in London, and has consistently ranked highly in external investor surveys. Mr Iqbal has a BSc (Hons) from Lahore University and an MSc in Economics from the University of Bristol.


Matthew Salter, CFA is President of CFA Society Israel and Director at the Department for International Trade at the UK Embassy in Tel Aviv.

Richard Lee, CFA is President of CFA Society Emirates and Portfolio Manager at Emirates NBD Asset Management in the UAE.


Rahul Shah, CFA is Managing Director at Tellimer, an EM technology and research platform, and at Inam, a MENA-focused consultancy. He is based in the UAE.
